Mayoral Maps: By Order of Finish

Two more maps for the truly addicted. Before, I broke out the city precincts with the shading of the candidate percentages (0-20,20-30,30-40,40-50,50-75,75-100). Here, what I've done is take each precinct and shade them based on the place each candidate performed: first, second, third, and last.

It's this view of the city that I think makes Annise's position appear strongest. Granted, this depends on whether you believe voters in Anglo GOP areas will break according to how they performed in the first round (30-10 Annise), or if you think there's the possibility of Gene making up some lost ground by gaining votes of those candidates no longer in the race. I don't think there's a given for either scenario, but the argument for Annise getting the majority strikes me as a lot more valid than an argument for Gene would.

More analysis in a later post. For now, just the maps. Color coding is as follows:

Dark blue - first place
Lighter blue - second place
Columbia blue - third place
Red - last place

Great work!

Gene wasted the entire spring, when he should have been introducing himself to West Houston.

Ironically, he has the money from that part of town. But he spent that money sooooo poorly that the people of that part of town didn't realize that he was the one their bosses wanted them to vote for.
