Missing From the 8-Days

Kuff covers the Controller's 8-day reports and highlights where they're spending money on communicating with voters (novel idea, that!). One thing he doesn't find ... Pam Holm's ad buy. Turns out she spent $27,000 on advertising her spot, which is really odd since she spent $10,000 on a video shoot. But that aside, why is "the watchdog" incapable of being ethical about the single easiest thing to be ethical about ... showing voters where you're spending campaign funds.

On a similar note, Casey finds that Peter Brown had a similar issue with regard to listing campaign print advertising with Houston Black American Democrats ... $1,750 in that case. Smaller potatoes, sure. But given Brown's ongoing problem with "staff errors," there should be a question or two raised about his management style. It's an idea.
