Fugitive Fundraising

John Davis, Ken Legler, Jim Murphy and Gary Elkins have at least two things in common. One, they're all Republican State Reps. Fine, whatever. To each their own. But number two is that they're all having Karl Rove over as part of his "Fugitive Fundraising Tour." No idea if t-shirts are available for this, but there should be. In any event, feel free to chip in for Sherrie Matula, Joel Redmond, Kristi Thibaut, and Trey Fleming to campaign against them in their respective district.

I don't normally jump on petition bandwagons, but in this case I was asked nicely. So here ya go ...

In an unprecedented and cowardly move, Karl Rove has blatantly ignored a Congressional subpoena to testify on the political firings at the Department of Justice, forcing the House Judiciary committee to issue Rove with a rarely-used Contempt of Congress citation. Although Rove has been trotting around the country appearing on talk shows, when it comes to owning up to the American people, he indefensibly claims immunity and skips town.

Join the Harris County Democratic Party and sign the petition demanding Karl Rove respect the laws of the land and respond to the subpoena.

We'll send the petitions to Rove's office at Fox News to let him know that we are fed up with him answering questions from his friends at Fox while he stiff arms the American people.

And it is very clear you won't see him testify anytime soon - after all, he already has a full schedule this month here in our own backyard. Rove has mapped out a "Fugitive Fundraising Tour" to benefit Senator John Cornyn and several of his vulnerable Republican cronies throughout Texas. It's time we take a stand and tell Karl Rove and his friends no one is above the law.

Send Karl Rove a message: Texans have had enough of his criminal antics.

What is Karl Rove hiding? Even during the Republican Watergate Scandal, Congressional subpoenas were honored. Our Democratic-controlled Congress has been fighting for far too long to extract the truth from Karl Rove. It is time for Rove's outrageous and flagrant violations of the American people's trust to stop, and for the truth to come out.

Sign the petition and let Karl Rove know you expect him to honor the Congressional Subpoena.
