Running on Hope

I wonder if this is what they mean by running on hope. 0% in in NC and they're calling it for Obama. Clinton up by 14 (19% in) ... "too early to call." Yeah, the MSM sure does love them some Clintons.

UPDATE: Heh ... Crowley posits one theory as to how the early NC call helps Hillary.

UPDATE 2.0: Rutenberg covers some of the drama inside the media bubble on calling Indiana.

As it turns out, maybe the MSM just had pretty good exit polling data. NC was clearly in the bag for Obama, with Indiana still too close to call after 90+ percent of the actual results in.

Anyway, it looks like we're much closer to this mess of a primary being over. Bring on the real debate between Obama and McCain (although I think the answer is simple - McCain just doesn't have enough support from the traditional conservatives base to gain any real traction).

It's time to eliminate the word "conversation" from the debate and move on to the question of who Obama's running mate will be. Wes Clark may be an even smarter choice for Obama than he would have been for Hillary. He offsets McCain's military background -- with points to spare -- but does not loom so large that he would overshadow our nominee. The next best choice would be a governor with an excellent economics background, but none come to mind; Bill Richardson does not fit that profile, but would be OK, just not great.
