Personally, I thought the whole "denounce and renounce" gambit ended with the advent of the year 2003. Republicans don't renounce the utterances of Falwell, Robertson, & Hagee while seeking their imprimatur on their campaigns, so I don't really see a need to play the game for Democrats.
