Do As I Say, Not As I Do ...
I know ... I'm still hoping to find time to gloat over New Hampshire. But the workload is still kicking. Be that as it may, today's comic relief is well worth a blog break. Enjoy ...
Kevin Whited (12/29/2007) (in response fo a Kuffner post):
Are you REALLY wanting to establish the standard that someone who votes a certain way is obligated to blog about about everyone who affiliated with a party they have voted for at some point?
Because that strikes me as something non-substantive sorts of partisans say too frequently -- instead of saying something substantive (like "nuff said" or "sounds about right to me"). And it strikes me as a standard that non-important people who aren't officially associated with parties, PACS, pols, or consulting/PR firms might just find... onerous. At least, it strikes this non-important person that way. *shrug*But hey, at least name the blogs you have in mind, so those folks can try to get their schedules in line with your expectations. Because I'm sure no "Republican blogs" would want to let you down. :)
Kevin Whited (1/9/2008):
And finally, there is the matter of another batch of recently released emails to/from Rosenthal that have been described by various journalists and bloggers as misogynistic, racist, and pornographic for starters.
... which, of course, leaves the open question of how it is that the mighty, "independent," Kevster would describe Chuck's emails.
The rest of the latest post involves a (well deserved) rant on Chuck Rosenthal's defense of himself. All fine and well that Republican bloggers like Kevin are willing to get rid of their own. And even more telling there's interest in seeing him resign. Personally, I say let him stay. The voters of Harris County (and I'm guessing that includes the likes of Kevin) voted him in. I seem to recall that elections have consequences. Maybe they should learn to live with them. Rosenthal had his affair over two decades ago. It's hard to believe that the emails in question don't reflect some aspect of his nature. So the fact that Republican activists and bloggers seem unwilling to discern and too easily duped by someone who talks the talk of the Blakemore/Second Baptist/GOP talking points doesn't really strike me as anything new. As long as Republican candidates read from the script, there will always be willing dupes who vote for them ... and apologist bloggers who rhapsodize for them based on a regurgitation of their talking points.
You're not keeping up. They're not defending Rosenthal any more, they're defending Kelly Siegler for saying that members of the Lakewood Church are "screwballs and nuts" who she works hard to keep off her juries. Please, God, give me more choices for District Attorney than the incompetent C.O. Bradford and the moronic Kelly Siegler.
Defending Kelly Siegler?

Here's an example of a quote I was referring to:
It is her job to pick the right people for the jury to get the toughest sentence she can. If in her opinion Lakewood people do not follow that criteria, that is fine. It might not be a good idea to go broadcasting that all over town, but I am sure she is not the only ADA that feels a certain way about a certain group. Just as a general rule I would say religious people are probably lighter on the death penalty. She might feel that way also. I think you guys are giving her a bum wrap on this one.
Does anyone know the circumstances of why Kelly Siegler’s husband, Sam Siegler had previously sued Kelly for divorce? “Also, has anyone seen the million dollar home that Kelly Siegler lives in? Check it out at:
