Showdown on Richmond: DA-style (... no kissing allowed)
» Chron: Harris County GOP interviews DA contenders (Alan Bernstein)
Echoing Kuff, today's the day we'll find out who the anointed challenger is for our amorous DA, Chuck Rosenthal. Apparently, it could look like 2000 all over again, with one of two challengers from the then-open seat contest in the GOP primary. I'll be a little surprised if it's not Pat Lykos, but I'm not making any predictions on the primary outcome yet.
I did find it a bit funny that Paul Bettencourt was negotiating a truce of some sort. I mean, I'm really curious how you negotiate anything when the desired outcome involves Rosenthal giving up what basically amounts to his life's work. Seriously ... what do you offer him in exchange for walking away?
I also found the last graf of Bernstein's story interesting:
Former Houston Police Chief C.O. Bradford is among those seeking the Democratic nomination for district attorney.
Among?
Also, I'm curious if that slip would somehow qualify against the charge of liberal bias at the Chron? Ya know, for those who keep score on such matters ;-)
