High School Final Four Predictions

I'm too out of it to offer even a guesstimate, but the DMN High School Football picks for tomorrow:

» Trinity-Plano ... only 3 of the 8 pick Trinity to win. Yikes. And one of the three has the worst record this season. Double-yikes!!!

» North Shore-Judson ... one Judson pick. Seven relatively sane writers on the other side.

High School sports blogger, Tim McMahon, has this to offer for Trinity-Plano:

It'd be a great story for Plano coach Gerald Brence to win a state championship in his last season on the sideline, but try telling that to Trinity. Plano lit up Skyline's star-studded defense last week, but Trinity will present an entirely different challenge. The Trojans, led by havoc-wreaking DE Mao Leota, will be the most physical team Plano has faced.

McMahon was pretty accurate re: Trinity the past two weeks. I hope his run continues. If this was one of the previous two seasons' teams, I might be brimming with a lot more confidence at a game like this. but the hurdles left (Plano and, presumably, North Shore) can't be taken as pushovers. Still, our matchup ought to be one where the punches land somewhat equally. And as long as there's no injuries that affect the balance, it should be a close and exciting game.
