Playoff Pairings, 2007

The chart is out. As expected, the big showdown will be Trinity v Odessa Permain in the third round. I'd point out that there exists a faint possibility of seeing Trinity & Bell go back at it again in the final Region I game, but there's just as much probability of seeing Odessa Permian vs Midland Lee. Which is to say ... not much.

Of local interest, Katy vs Strake Jesuit kick off Friday night at Rice Stadium. Katy's one to watch late in the playoffs, so see em while you can.

My pick for the DFW region is that it comes down to Trinity vs Arlington Bowie. That, of course, relies solely on the belief that my own alma mater will avenge their drubbing in Odessa from earlier in the season. There's a part of me that hopes the playoff game gets scheduled in Odessa for just that reason. If I'm wrong, I suspect Permian could go all the way. If I'm right, a Trinity-Katy matchup for all the marbles is just swell by my taste.
