» Dionne on the Ditto Democrats. Nothing earth-shattering here. But it marks what may be a turning point for some sense of cohesion among Dems.

» There there's Matt Bai, on what may represent the opposite of the above. The (re-)growth the party is seeing in the Mountain West is promising, but just like every other moment of growth, these ain't all yer ma's Democrats.

» Coogs win the home opener, Owls will spend the week pretending that they really don't have a football team, UTEP/Vittatoe romp on TSU, Trinity High wins. Neglected to blog my lament at last week's painful loss of Trinity to the dreaded Odessa Permian ... whatevers. All I can really say there is this: ouch! The team's offense looks a little light this year, points-wise. We'll see what the lay of the land is at season's end and plot playoff vengeance accordingly. Worth noting is that Southlake Carroll lost their much-hyped national matchup with a team from Florida. Double ouch.
