Early Football Update: College Edition

» Chron: UH gives Oregon plenty of help (Michael Murphy)
An unfortunately common scene from the good guys. The one good thing to take from the experience is that it comes early in the rebuilding of Brile's second stage as head coach. If we're losing games like this in Keenum's senior year, this is a problem. For now, a learning experience. The conference schedule is much more forgiving, so in light of this outcome, there's not too much reason for despair yet.

The QB line reads as follows ...
Case Keenum 14-27-1-179
Blake Joseph 8-12-1-51

The better news of the day is that RB Anthony Aldridge looks like a horse we can ride to another bowl or two before he ships out.

» Final: UTEP 10, New Mexico 6 (AP)

On the downside, Trevor Vittatoe's debut looked rocky ... yet productive enough for the win. Six for twenty-one, with fifty-nine yards. The alternate QB, Lorne Sam, only had two-fer-four and twenty-two yards. The one team in orange I can tolerate manages to win 10-6. That doesn't even sound busy enough to qualify as a baseball game these days.

» APPALLING! Wolverines shocked by Division I-AA team (Michael Rosenberg)

Heh ... maybe us Coogs shouldn't count our TSU chickens before they're hatched.
