A Morning Laugh
It's proper to laugh at things like this ...
» Rasmussen Releases Literally Unbelievable Poll
Their latest poll is either a huge blunder or outright fraud.
by James BuchananThe Rasmussen polling agency claims that Rudy Giuliani, a man who has repeatedly placed in the bottom four, in Republican straw polls, is really the Republican front-runner while Ron Paul who received 81 percent of the vote in the GOP Alabama straw poll and 73 percent in the GOP New Hampshire straw poll has only one percent support. A recent update from Rasmussen claims "The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson on top of the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination. Giuliani earns 24% of the vote from Likely Republican Primary Voters while Thompson is at 22%. Mitt Romney and John McCain are each favored by 13% while Mike Huckabee tops the second tier at 5%."
Ron Paul got NINE PERCENT in the Iowa Straw Poll with its over 14,000 real, live Republican voters. This happened despite Paul being shut out of the debate in Iowa and despite a $35 per ticket charge to vote. Now this should be the absolute minimum, we should be willing to accept from these pollster/propaganda outlets. Meanwhile Rudy Giuliani got ONE PERCENT in the Iowa straw poll. Despite claims that Rudy did not campaign in Iowa, the truth is he spent 26 days touring Iowa in contrast to a mere 17 days by Ron Paul. Who looks like the most viable candidate based on those statistics???
...
It's true the mainstream media is going out of its way censoring Ron Paul news. His recent victories in New Hampshire, Alabama and Washington have all been censored from the headline news sections. But he's being promoted on every political blog in the country. Ron Paul supporters are calling in radio shows and doing everything they can to crack the Media Iron Curtain. Ron Paul supporters are using a variety of creative tactics to reach people on the Internet or to reach people through impromptu street activities. Ron Paul supporters were most recently holding up a large banner on a bridge over the I-5 freeway in Salem Oregon as thousands of motorists drove by. I don't see Giuliani supporters showing this sort of dedication. The first primary is months away, but Ron Paul supporters are so enthusiastic, they are going out on the streets today to promote the best man in the race.
Even funnier is that certain political consultants of Paul's agree that internet polls and technorati search results as an adequate proxy for votes. Can't wait to see some of the conspiracies that come out after the early primary states.
It's like the hoopla around former presidential candidate Michael Badnarik running for the 10th CD and how the Libertarians were so sure that he'd at least come in 2nd; he even called for Ankrum to drop out (the result? Badnarik got a whopping 4.3%). Libertarians are incredibly loud, but haven't figured out that most people haven't drunk their Kool-Aid and joined in the echo chamber (but, to give them credit, it is a very efficient echo chamber that amplifies and keeps the noise very well).
Even more amusing is the thought of an actual Paul Administration (just the thought - the reality would be horrid). Where would he get his Congressional coalition from? Bush imploded and he's actually in the mainstream of his own party. The Democrats? No way this side of the Styx River. All it would prove is that Dr. No comes by his nickname honestly and would wear out his Veto stamp, while at the same time smashing the presidential record for overridden vetoes. But, I guess the rabid Randians don't have time for such pithy things as foresight, pragmatism, and coalition-building.
Ummm...did you look at anything else on that blog?
Hope it's not too representative of Paul's "netrootz."
Instead of obsessing over RP, you might as well get used to him being around a long time. His people barely ever spend money, and he has reserves to last him until January '08 at least after the matching funds. \
So people are going to be seeing a good bit more of him whether anyone likes it or not. Might as well stop obsessing.
