Why Not Blame the Witness?
» ABC13.com: Police arrest three men in connection with copper thefts
Houston police say they operated separately but collectively are responsible for at least eight copper thefts. The suspects have been arrested and charged.A least three churches were targeted recently, investigators claim. Central AC units were destroyed by the theft of copper coils. Police say that most if not all of the thefts occurred in north and northeast Houston.
...
In one the thefts, a witnesses was confronted by one of the suspects and was hit with a piece of concrete but was not seriously injured.
Of course, the Republican blogger position is that the witness "had it coming." And possibly that they should be "indited."

Greg, as a victim of burglary (twice in the Bill White era), I agree with you and Boris Miles that people should be shot for petty theft.
It's always nice to find common ground!
I've often viewed this as the Greg Wythe era ... and I've been a victim of crime three times during it. That said, I'm always a fan of self-defense.
