One Morbid Week

Jeez, they're only supposed to come in threes I thought:

Bill Walsh, Former 49ers Coach, Dies at 75

Tom Snyder, TV Talk Host, Dies at 71

Ingmar Bergman, Famed Film Director, Dies at 89

Add in Norma Gabler & Marvin Zindler and this is turning out to be a rather morbid week. Of the bunch, I can only claim to being a fan of Snyder in his prime (and of Walsh via the rear view mirror). What else was there to do around midnight before cable? Besides, there was always something new and unusual on his shows. Whether it was the Manson interview, watching KISS publicly disintegrate, Johnny Rotten utterly confuse, or Patty Smith make the most sense of all ... the show was legendary. I wish I could say I appreciated this introduction back when it happened:
