Kevin Kolb: No Fake Pump

» Chron: Kolb 'pumped' about signing (John McClain)

Former University of Houston quarterback Kevin Kolb, the Philadelphia Eagles' second-round pick in this year's NFL draft, signed a four-year, $4.32 million contract Wednesday.

Kolb, the 36th overall pick, reports to training camp Friday and competes with veterans A.J. Feeley and Kelly Holcomb for the backup job behind starter Donovan McNabb.

Jeff Nalley of Houston-based Select Sports Group negotiated the contract that includes $2.62 million in guaranteed money — an 11.5 percent increase over what the 36th pick made in 2006.

"I'm pumped," Kolb said about signing his contract.

And those of us in Cougarland are "stoked" for him.
