Agreed, But I'll Stick With #1

In an otherwise drivel-ridden column by Broder, I'm reminded of what it is that I love about Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius. In this case, it's her plain-spoken ability about the current crop of Presidential candidates:

Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, a Democrat, says, "I could be comfortable with any one of our eight candidates." Pause. "Well, maybe not No. 7 or No. 8."

I generally agree. And that's a far cry better than the pack I saw four years ago.

As for the rest of Broder's column, it is what it is. Elected officials are, as a species, reluctant to endorse unless they see it as a safe pick, a non-harmful option, or they sense they can influence something on their own. It's not just Governors in this cycle.
