HD149: Meyers v Vo

The Professors let the cat out of the bag, so why not add a little commentary to it? Greg Meyers is running against Hubert Vo in HD149. I don't doubt that it rankles a few Republican hides that Hubert Vo managed to increase his margin in 2006 even as the district remained marginally Republican. Even Don Willett carried the district and he lagged everywhere.

The Meyers rumors have been floating out and about for a while now. He's been rather eager to make a name for himself, too: failed candidate for District G in 2003, elected to HISD in 2004. Meyers has been running in all the right circles for GOP wannabes - namely as co-chair of Texas Institute for Educational Reform (ie - Bill Hammonds & Bill Miller). Nowhere to go in 2008 but the buzzsaw that awaits him on the west side of town. Maybe the 149th is one of those districts that Tom Craddick thinks will flip if he mentions the words "Vince Foster" enough times.
