Really. Both of those Sharpstown residents got on my nerves, and so did the music and that whole schtick. It's the kind of fluff you see on TV news though.

Like a lot of Carey "reports", this seems as if it wasn't quite done by deadline.
The only explanations the story seems to point to are the Sharp scandal (unexplained) and apartments, the overbuilding of which also contributed to premature decline around Westbury.
The results of overbuilding (if that's a word) of high-density housing in SW Houston in the 70's and 80's should give us a sign of what's to come when the ccurrent condo/townhouse bubble in Central Houston inevitably bursts within a few years.
In the meantime, I can think of wide swaths of former rice fields in southwest Houston that would be ideal land for floodwater detention.
