Metal Shop Revisted

Thanks to Jeff Balke, I've now got this timewaster in front of me. Tons of cool photos from the early age of metal bands back in the 80s. I just love that there's Krokus pics in there .... and the one of Yngwie Malmsteen's first show in the USA? Awesome!

For those truly interested in reliving the moment (sorta), there's a coupla shows coming up at the local horse race digs:

7/7/07 ... Poison/Ratt
Not sure who's in this lineup of Ratt (intel sez Pearcy & DeMartini are together), but I'll take my chances. Poison still represents the genre remarkably well. Wish they coulda added White Lion (aka - Mike Tramp solo act) for this stop.

7/27/07... Quiet Riot/Slaughter
Not the same since Carlos Cavazo left the scene, but it ought to be entertaining enough for the trip.

That's Yngwie J. Malmsteen to you, bucko. You need that middle initial to ensure you've got the One True Yngwie and not one of his pale imitators.

Isn't Dokken part of that Poison/Ratt tour? I thought that's what the Boston Globe said in its summer concert preview.

My show for the summer? The Alarm, Psychedelic Furs, and The Fixx in July.

Maybe on a few of the legs of that tour. Last I heard, the only original member of that band left was the singer, though. I'll pass.

I'm envious of The Fixx hitting other places than here. That's one band I definitely want to see.
