Round One for Rudy
» Chron: Giuliani tries to clear up abortion views in visit to Houston (Dale Lezon)
So Rudy ultimately goes with the Hootie & the Blowfish Explanation on abortion: It's awful - unbearable even. But a lot of people do it, so I'm not going to really get in the way of it.
In the end, I think those on the far right waiting for Rudy to come undone over his ideological apostasy will be waiting a while longer. At least when it comes to this issue. The next track for them will be to cover gay rights. They might have better luck there.
Of course, as a Democrat, I can't wait to highlight the fact that Republicans are beating up on gays during a time of war. Yeah, no fish in a barrel for me there.

I actually think Giuliani's remarks on abortion show someone who has given a lot of thought to it and struggled with it. Most people give little thought to it, they're either for it or against it. I give Rudy a lot of credit for this.
But sending yet more troops to Iraq? That's nuts.
