Daily Double: Trinity Trojans & the "American Way"

Comment revival here, from an old post about Trinity High's habit of performing a Haka before and after football games (I'm guessing the ritual survived into this season as well since the Booster Club sells "Haka Power" t-shirts).

How can a American school do a haka from native New Zealand-Maoris- nothing to do with Tonga? This tradition is special for New Zealanders how can you even think about starting your games with this, this is New Zealands ritual for starting our rugby games. Find your own American way!

What makes the comment all-too ironic is that rugby is an English game. I'm sure that, as soon as New Zealanders find their own New Zealand game, Trinity's football team will gladly revert back to an "American way." Of course, back in my day, the "American way" was hanging out at North East Mall trying to sneak into R-rated movies. I'm not sure how conducive that is to playing football.
