Ad-Watching: Harold Ford for Senate
Another nice one ...
Essentially of the "I'm for ____" variety. What's even better is that it's taking an issue that's traditionally used against Democrats and taking ownership of it.

my man Ford! I wish I could see him around "my" neighborhood
I am sick of so-called Democrats that engage in immigrant bashing. He, like the DSCC commercial, equates undocumented immigrants with terrorists--I know that's not the case, and I thought you knew better, too.
Big difference between doing the job that's been needed in patrolling the borders and immigrant bashing. I'm fairly confident that Lt. Col. Rick Noriega wasn't bashing immigrants, for instance, when he was patrolling the border. Ford strikes a perfect balance in this ad ... like it or not.
I don't think Rick Noriega would have voted for HR4437. Ford did and in doing so sided with Sensenbrenner, Poe, Culberson, and other right-wingers that continue to villify Latinos.
There's a difference between "perfect balance" and playing to Republican-created fears.
Well, had he made an ad in favor of HR4437, then there'd be more of a point. But since he didn't .......
Of course. *slaps forehead* Making an ad is always more significant than actually voting for -- or against -- legislation.
We must have crossed the border into LieberWorld. Look, there's a signpost up ahead: Province of Consultantocracy. Please produce your passports, Medellins.
PDidd ...
If your contention is that there are 36 too many Democrats in the House (or that none deserve to serve as Democrats in any other office), then feel free to make it. That's how many voted for the Nonsense-enbrenner bill. Among them, btw, was Chet Edwards. By all means, tell me how we need to have Chet run out of Congress or primaried by someone who most certainly could not win Bryan and McLellan counties. FURTHERMORE, since you want to play the Lieberman card, feel free to point out Joe's votes on immigration as somehow representing a newer form of apostasy. Got anything? Anything at all???
Back to the topic at hand ... I suggest all partisans here check the title of the post: "Ad-Watching." Seriously, I thought it was *that* simple of a concept to grasp.
None of this discussion actually matters; I'm sure Ford would have voted for the Senate immigration bill.
