Case on the Environment
That other primary contest ....
Good to see Ed Case getting on the air with a variety of adverts. Latest polling (Rasmussen) has the race as follows:
Akaka: 47%
Case: 45%
Goodness ... someone on the mainland (other than me, that is) just might have to start paying attention to this race.

Sorry Greg, I don't support you on this one. Although I disagree with Akaka on ANWR and the Feingold-Kerry amendment, Case is just too conservative for me.
Fair 'nuff. For me, it's just about doing away with some of the decrepit machine-era politics that still permeate more than a few states. Case, for my taste, has had a great track record of running against this since 2002. What happens if/when he gets to the Senate, which I presume is his ultimate political goal? Dunno ... I'll take my chances for now, though. Then again, from my vantage point, I don't necessarily see Case as too conservative for me ;-)
I'm just skeptical of Case on healthcare (particularly his acceptance of the Republican small business healthcare plan proposal -I hope he supports the Blanche bill and universalizaing the FEHBP) , some pieces of tort reform (I supported the Class Action Fairness Act, but not the Lawsuit Abuse Reduction Act), and immigration reform (although not as much because I'm sure he would have voted for the Senate bill). But I admit he is a helluva lot better on the environment, though. How does ANWR really help Hawaii? lol
