Ex-Trinity star leads Texas over Oklahoma in Oil Bowl

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Dimitri Nance rushed for 108 yards to help Texas to a 17-0 victory over Oklahoma on Saturday night in the 69th Oil Bowl at Memorial Stadium.

Nance, who led Euless Trinity to the Class 5A state championship, gained 108 yards on 19 carries and added another 22 yards on two receptions. Jeremy Beal and Tim Crosby led the Texas defense, which held Oklahoma to six first downs and 89 total yards. Beal posted seven tackles, including 1.5 sacks, and had two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Crosby had two interceptions.

The teams combined for 216 yards in penalties.

Justin Fenty and Kinzey Joiner each scored touchdowns in the third quarter to give Texas a 14-0 lead. Blake Baublits added a 35-yard field goal in the fourth to seal the win.

The game marked Texas' 13th shutout against Oklahoma in the game's 69-year history. Texas leads the series 43-17.

... but I'm too happy seeing Trinity High represented as well as it is here. At some point, I may have to take an active interest in his career at Arizona State.
