Daily Kos: The Dirtiest Secret of the Domenech "Resignation": Conservative Cronyism
Bloggers doing more due diligence on a Washington Post hire than the Washington Post. Imagine that.
Ben Domenech's brief tenure in the mainstream press is now over. DHinMI, over at KOS, has a rather spot-on analysis of what the Post seems to have still not learned from the experience.
I suspect they'll just go out and hire them up some other rightwing nut and call it "balance" regardless of whatever nutty idea they espouse. Maybe they'll at least hire on merit instead of offering some affirmative action program for home-schooled plaigerists with no discernable professional skills or life experience.
Maybe.
UPDATE: Oh hell, Kevin Drum wins the single best short take on this scalp hunt:
I'm all for giving Blue America a taste of what Red America is really all about, but if you're going to write spittle-flecked polemics about the moral decay of liberals you really ought to think up your own insults.
Does it count as ironic if I borrow the phrase "spittle-flecked polemics" later on for something unrelated to this topic?

Danke.
I'm really disappointed, actually, that this flamed, roared, and sputtered before I had a chance to babble anything coherent about it.
Hopefully the next big red bullseye will have a bit more starch to it.
