Yeah, I know ... light blogging lately. Lots of things hitting all at once in Gregville for a bit. Should improve soon. Hope for the best ;-)
A few catchups ...
Chris Bell gets another quality endorsement, this time from one of Harris County's finest legislators: Garnet Coleman. Garnet can also use a few shots of loose change sent his way since he's got a couple of Ron Wilson's old friends running against him in a primary. So go donate online.
Chris also has a flurry of news going on education issues, some of which I agree with 101%, some of which I disagree with 101%. Let the fun begin as soon as some time clears to go into some depth in another post.
Meanwhile Gammage gets endorsements from Jim Dunnam of Waco, and Wes Clark will be in town for something of a rally. Dunnam's one of the good guys, no doubt. Not sure what effect an out-of-state General will do, though. More goodies on Gammage as things clear up on the schedule tonight, though. Little of it good.
Keir Murray, with a pretty darned good defense of the Chron poll on CD22. Full disclosure, both Keir and Dr. Murray are counted as good friends. I've got tons of respect for both, going so far as to jam Dr. Murray's Presidential Elections class into my 1992 curriculum despite having long since dropped PoliSci as my major. What seems to be inexplicably missing from the attacks on the poll is an explanation of why the recalled vote percentages for Delay v Morrison are nearly spot-on. David Benzion has an email response from Dr. Murray that seems to have all the maturity we can expect from our friends on the right. But the Doc's email furthers the case for what the poll is and is not.
Despite the best efforts of DeLay's defenders in the blogosphere, there's no way around explaining that he's got a bit of a problem. I mean, as a rule of thumb, two investigations that have your name attached to them somehow really don't help things much. Far be it from me to make the case that such things are but mere trivialities as others have done. Whether it's enough of a problem for Nick Lampson to come out ahead in a GOP-favorable district, we'll just have to wait and see. Obviously, that's not enough for DeLay's apologists ... who insist upon attacking the messenger first, last, and always. Par for the course.
Casey over Santorum by 15 points. Sweet!
Joy Lynn White concert review coming later. One word will suffice for now ... AMAZING!
