Felix Alvarado, We Hardly Knew Ye
No snarkiness to be added in this, but just informational info: Felix Alvarado, candidate for Governor, has been deleted from the Primary Ballot. That leaves Chris Bell, Bob Gammage, and Rashad Jafer. But that ought to shut up the few Republicans who think that Valley Dems will just blindly vote for an Hispanic in the primary. Faulty logic, to be sure. But life goes on.
FWIW, both of the Alvarado siblings strike me as sincere in their motivations for running and while I've got my horse in this race, I salute Felix for his civic-mindedness and hope he has a similar desire to help grow the Democratic Party by helping us field quality candidates in every contestable race.

Good point Greg. Both Felix and Maria take what they do seriously. What happened could have happened or has happened to many people, but the sad part is that it happened to a man who wanted to be Texas Governor. Neither Alvarado appears to take on what they don't wholeheartedly believe is a good cause. Both served their country. Both have their own uniqueness and talents. It's difficult to educate children today, much less middle school kids (personally speaking) and it's difficult to run a campaign on faith alone when the world knows money is needed.
Kudos should go to the Alvarado who attempted to change Texas and was knocked down by his own party. Kudos should go to the Alvarado who isn't being discouraged by what has occurred. Most importantly, kudos should go to the people who will continue to support both Felix Alvarado to run again and to those who continue to support Maria Alvarado as she fights against the negativity that will come her way.
This didnt last long./
