Should the NFL Have a Conflict of Interest Provision?

I forgot about this little tidbit of trivia from last year's Heisman ceremony, but it seems Reggie Bush and Alex Smith are high school teammates. I smell a setup.

Meanwhile, Marc Campos shares a thought on the Texans' overlooked RB, Dominick Davis. I tend to agree. Reggie Mania isn't fair for the guy, but he'll land in good stride. Talent like that doesn't go to the bench ... it gets traded.

As Kuff notes, the biggest glaring holes on the team are on the O-line and defense. Of course, I'll never admit to that thought if I should happen to be in the presence of some of those guys. David Carr deserves a year or two with some decent protection to show what he's truly capable of at the pro level. Thus far, however, he's not doing as poorly as the team record would indicate he might. No regrets over that draft pick.

As to who will be gone after the year, I've got to think Coach Dom is a given for the dustbin. I can't fault Dom for his role in building the team up from the ground, but at some point, you've got to show you can coach at every stage of team development. Dom seems to have hit the wall in the NFL. There are worse things in life. GM Casserly should be sent packing, but might get the final year on his contract to show what he can do with a new coach and Reggie in the backfield. That's a big "might," though.
