And on a more loving note, congratulations to Anne Clutterbuck on her win. I know there was some nervousness over the sheer volume of mail that Hittner was dropping into the system for this election, but District C came through just as I called (seriously, when did I suddenly get so accurate?).

It'll be interesting to see what sort of territory Anne stakes out once on Council. Of all the GOP-tilted members of council in recent memory, Anne just might be the one we Dems are pleasantly surprised by. Yeah, yeah ... I know ... she'll cast a few votes we hate. But still, Anne ran another campaign of ideas rather than personal assaults and combated those assaults headed her way with an incredible effectiveness. I thought folks learned a long time ago that negative hits on female candidates are much much tougher than when it's against another dude? Well, maybe that was something we learned over 26 years ago.

Ouch, cheap shot there. I've met George. Nice enough guy and God bless him for having all the opportunities that one could hope for in life by being from a great family. But still ... he's 26. If he doesn't have a future left, I'll be shocked. That's not to say I'll be supportive of him down the road. Just that I suspect we'll see him somewhere else down the road.
