SEIU Lovell ... Still Wallowing in the Mud

Well, the "SEIU Lovell" nonsense continues. Check the latest negative mail peice, sent out not by the Sue Lovell Campaign, but by SEIU. Yet another illegal act on the part of Team Lovell:

UPDATE: Apparently, SEIU neglected to mention Sue's own efforts to reach out to the other side (via email from Sue Lovell's campaign):

Sue Lovell Wins Endorsement Of Republican Precinct Chair Mary Jane B. Smith

Sue Lovell today announced that Republican Precinct #232 Chair Mary Jane B. Smith has endorsed her in the runoff for Houston City Council At Large Position Two.

"This run-off election is a no brainer," said Smith. "In one corner is Sue Lovell, a businesswoman and former small business owner who pays taxes, provides a necessary service, contributes to the economy and knows the pitfalls of government. In the other corner is a bureaucrat who believes government best solves community problems.

"I have known Sue Lovell for over twenty years," Smith continued. "First as my next door neighbor, then professionally. She was the same twenty years ago as she is now: honest, up-front, responsible and a pleasure to work with. A no brainer."

Smith is also a former Republican Senatorial District Chair.

"Mary Jane and I have worked together to solve common problems and that's what my campaign is all about," Lovell said. "I am proud to receive Mary Jane's endorsement and have her as a member of my campaign team, which reflects all Houstonians."

Smith joins the growing number of individuals and organizations from all over the community who have endorsed Lovell for the December 10 City Council runoff. Those recently joining the Lovell team include St. Representative Rick Noriega, the Houston Federation of Teachers, Sheetmetal Workers Local 54, the Greater Houston Restaurant Association, the Pakistan American Council of Texas PAC, businessman Dan Nip, former Houston Vietnamese Community President Kim Nguyen, District D City Councilmember Ada Edwards, the Houston Association of Realtors?, Fort Bend County Constable Ruben Davis, St. Representative Dora Olivo and the Harris County AFL-CIO. They join a wide spectrum of elected officials, community groups, labor organizations and political organizations who have endorsed Lovell.

Lovell is the Director of the Mills Access to Training & Career Help
(MATCH) Program, an award-winning national program that creates job opportunities and provides job training for working families across America. She is campaigning on a platform of expanding jobs and economic development, improving public safety, increasing affordable housing and enhancing the quality of life in Houston neighborhoods.

How "fashionable!"

UPDATE: 2.0: Stace, over at Dos Centavos (and nobody's idea of a 'conservative Democrat) notes SEIU's own efforts to fashionably ingratiate themselves with the GOP. This reeks of hypocrisy.
