Click2Houston.com - News - True Or False: E-Mails Spread Stories About Dome
Some interesting tidbits to beat back some of the urban legends coming out of the Dome, including one of which registers atop my radar:
Where Is Osteen?Local 2 has received numerous e-mails wondering where Joel Osteen of Lakewood Church has been during the recovery.
Spokesman Don Iloff said Osteen had an event in Atlanta, where he raised $70,000 last night, and he has another event tonight. He will return to Houston Saturday.
Iloff said 100 percent of the money Osteen raised would be given to the Astrodome Recovery Project.
And just a reminder ... this weekend's services (and possibly more) will involve a food drive collection at Lakewood. There's also training being done for counseling among the evacuees.
UPDATE: One more note from the Google News RSS feed ...
Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church Webcast will be addressing the tragedy of the hurricane during services. Located in Houston, the church is actively involved in assisting hurricane victims. Watch it live here Saturday, Sept. 3, at 7 pm CT, or Sunday, Sept. 4 at 8:30 and 11:00 am CT.
Of course, if you're in town, there's also the option of visiting.
