One More Note on HB3 ...

A tip of the hat where it's due ... the Dem team was unified in their opposition to HB3 yesterday. I had to rub my eyes when I happened upon Sly Turner giving the pro-side hell on how his Acres Homes constituents would see higher taxes. Kudos to Sly on that. And despite reports of his grumblings about internet rumors of his impending absence, even Rev. Al stuck around to vote with the good guys. Fret not, Reverend ... we're only doing this for your own good. One day, you may actually thank us for it. Aside from those rare kudos, this is also a reminder on the level of leadership we're getting from Reps. Dunnam and Coleman in the Texas House. That "one vote float" may be around for a while longer, but eventually, a unified front in the lege will pay off a dividend or two down the road and make for a better organization once we're back in the majority.

No word yet from THE Conservative Blog of Sugar Land has to say about Ft. Bend County Republican State Rep Glen Hegar taking a powder on this vote after voting against it on the second reading? Another instance of principled GOP conservatism on Hegar's part? I can't wait to see how this is spun. C'mon Chris ... enlighten us poor knaves on this one.
