Candidate Goings On ...

The 2006 saga continues ...

  • Gordon Quan sits out the race to defeat Tom DeLay, leaving the field to Nick Lampson. Wise move, Councilman. Your time and opportunity will arrive soon enough and hopefully, closer to home.

  • Bogey McDuff (as suitable a pseudonym as there ever was for a golf shop owner) has the update on Juan Garcia. More good news - he's not making the race for the US Senate. Advantage Radnofsky. Garcia's one good looking candidate for whatever he sets his sights on, though. If he opts for the State House, more power to him. But I've gotta think he could end up on the fast track to the front of the bench. Still plenty of statewide offices in need of candidates, Juan.

  • On the big stage, Joe Biden states the obvious - he's in the race for 1600 Penn in 2008. 2008 could be an impressive year for my tastes. I absolutely love Joe Biden (not in that box turtle way, mind you), but unlike the last Joltin' Joe I rode to the State Convention, this election might not have a dearth of candidates to my liking. Even more important, the odds-on favorite may be just dandy for me. So while I can speak no ill of Biden (well, the grin is still kinda freaky and the hair has always been pretty weird), but I'll wait to see what Hillary says first.
