Thune on Bolton
AP Wire | 05/26/2005 | Thune says he will oppose Bolton nomination
I have no sympathy for anyone who realizes that the upside of being a loyal Rove footsoldier is that it gets you nothing once you're elected. I mean, doesn't Senator Thune realize he's just supposed to be a rubber stamp? Still, that Thune is taking his protest out via the Bolton vote strikes me as comical in more ways than I can possibly enumerate ... especially when it's such a blatant flip-flop on Thune's part.

I have to deal with this fool everyday, living in SOuth Dakota. I wasn't the hugest fan of Sen. Daschle, but he was a much better man than Thune. It seems as though SD loves to make a habit of shooting itself in the foot politically.
Publically stating his opposition to Bolton - a sure, fire way to get Bush to close that base faster. Bush doesn't like opposition and particularly, public opposition.
I take it Senator Thune and Bush won't be traveling together to SD for any Social Security meetups.
