Good Advice, Bad Friends

Great linkage here from Tom Kirkendall in regards to a great read by one of Houston's best trial lawyers, Knox Nunnally.

Now, maybe it's just the cynic within that makes me head straight to the FEC website to see where Mr. Nunnally donated his political money. I mean, we heard more from Bush on how one cannot be for both doctors and trial lawyers at the same time more than we ever heard a peep about his big bold plan for Social Security privatization.

So where did Nunnally's money go?

$2000 - BC04
$1000 - BC00
$3000 - Kay Bailey Hutchison (since 2000)
$5000 - RNC

Now, I realize not all trial lawyers are of the same mind on everything under the sun, but I'm rather curious how Knox squares that sense of philanthropy with a President and party who clearly hold his professional deeds in such deep disdain.

ADD-ON: And not to be one-sided about this as I check another of Vinson & Elkins' brightest: Barbara Radnofsky ... why on earth was she on the Greg Abbott late train with a $1,000 check? (I'll make temporary allowances for the more meager $250 towards Paul Green's campaign - the race was uncontested on our side and Green was clearly the lesser of two evils) I mean, her record is otherwise pretty impressively blue - even a $500 check to David Van Os among the mix. But Greg Abbott's name really sticks out on that list like a sore thumb.
