Is that good?

I have trouble believing this. However, it would good in the sense that former Congressman Gingrich, although very intelligent, is frequently his own worst enemy. Gingrich alienated so many members of the House Republican leadership and caucus with his eccentricities and authoritarianism that he ended up having to step down. He became the right wing bogeyman that Democrats used to drive down the favorability ratings of the Republicans on Capitol Hill at various points of the Clinton Administration. As a footnote, Democrats unfortunately cannot do to Tom DeLay what they did to Newt Gingrich, because DeLay isn't very well known outside Washinton, DC, and Texas.

Oh, I'm fairly convinced it's just overblown book selling hype. Gingrich no doubt remembers how much Colin Powell's Presidential rumors helped his book sales, so he likely just wants back in the NYT Bestsellers list. Still, if he DID run ... I'd be shocked if he won the nomination.

I downloaded the first chapter of his new book from www.newt.org . It was 24 pages of blather that could have been condensed to, at most, three pages.

His indiscretions won't play in the religious conversative wing of the party.

Ohh but it would be soo much fun to run against Gingrich again =)

Gingrich for president? He must think we all have amnesia. How can we forget his adultery and his other activities? http://www.realchange.org/gingrich.htm#deadbeat
He is a pompous jerk.

Gingrich is the only candidate making any sense.

All the others speak in circles; and dodge every tough question. At least Newt actually has ideas about how to make America greater. And if we had a real "LIncoln vs. Douglas" style debate, he will crush them.

And believe me, anyone who gets the spotlight in this race is going to have some dirt exposed, true or not. Digging up dirt and smearing candidates has been part and parcel of politics since Jefferson versus Adams.
