Doing a little googling of Sam Popkin after making the post below, and I turn up this symposium on the 2004 campaign where Popkin took part. There's an emphasis on health policy that I haven't skimmed through yet, but so far the Stanford University transcripts are a pretty insightful read on the campaign.
