Kirk, Ickes ... Out
Ron Kirk a natural to lead party to wins in '06 and '08
Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk is the best choice for the new chair of the Democratic National Committee. He's articulate, he's personable and he understands what the party needs to do to compete successfully two years from now and in 2008.
Ummm ... well ... nevermind.

So, do you have any predictions as to who will end up being the next DNC chairman? I gather that your two candidates are still Fowler and Rosenberg? I am certainly hoping that Dean doesn't have anyways near the chance that the press gives him. He would be an unmitigated disaster. It is amazing that the Deaniacs and many members of what you call the Crank Caucus still believe that Dean is the man to lead the Democratic Party out of the wilderness. How much did he and Trippi raise on the INTERNET? How many primaries did they win? How many gaffes did Dean have to explain away? How much damage did Dean do by pulling Kerry even farther to the left in the primaries, making him lose even more credibility as he had to scramble back to the center in the general election, especially on National Security Issues? In any case, if Dean were hypothetically as successful as DNC chairman as he was as a presidential candidate, how long would he take to reduce the Democratic Party to a historical footnote? These are all rhetorical questions, and sarcastic ones at that. No need for a substantive response, unless you or somebody else wants to make one.

Predictions? I'm out of that business. But I will have a new post on my own official endorsement soon enough.
... not that it really matters or anything.

Sure, it matters. You are in the running to be the centrist Democratic answer to KOS in the almighty Blogosphere. I am not being sarcastic about that. Your articles are much more interesting and thought provoking than the ones over at DAILY KOS, CRANK CAUCUS CENTRAL. You also, of course, have a much more realistic view of national politics. Hopefully, there are some sane Democrats in Cyberspace, and not just Deaniacs and Kossacks. My apologies to the Deaniacs who are sane, who are numerous (if not legion), even if from my own perspective they are misguided.
