Everyone is Now Officially a Candidate for DNC
Texas Democrats' ex-chief eyes national party job
Holy crud! Is there anyone other than myself not running for this gig yet? Molly Beth Malcolm, bless her heart, good woman so far as I know. But can anybody name a single darn thing she accomplished as state party chair? Not one single statewide contest won during her tenure. She's never held any elective office, so her campaign assistance is next to nothing.
Furthermore, she's a charter member of the Martin Frost Mafia! So let's evaluate this from a Texas-centric point of view: Martin Frost and Ron Kirk are both angling for the gig, both from Dallas. I'm not overly familiar with any relations between Kirk and Frost. Kirk gets some serious buzz going because of MyDD's all-too-bogus-and-unscientific poll putting him in the top tier. One of the topics people are offering for Kirk's success was that he sucked up to the women folk in bemoaning the overabundance of Y chromosomes up for the top job. So now, for some unexplained reason, a close acquaintance of Martin Frost enters the race out of the blue. Hmmmmmmmm.

How about big Jim Mattox?

Mattox does know ground game. And labor.
That's two points ahead of most of the folks I've heard mentioned.

Why is is bogus? That's a lame excuse for not thinking Greg. Unscientific sure, but the fact is, like it or not, that poll reflected what DNC members said coming out of the hall.

Jerome,
"Bogus" because although it reflects the view of those exiting the hall, it wasn't in any way scientific, random, representative, or in any other way telling of anything other than that Ron Kirk made a good presentation at one of the regional meetings. Can we *not* leave the flawed exit polling up to the mainstream media?
