I agree with Carter's take 100% ... we'd like to see more of an effort, but the current situation in Iraq & Afghanistan don't make that an easy proposition. 125 troops on the ground isn't a lot, but if you're going to go with that number, this is a smart way to leverage our efforts. On the plus side, it's a good test to gauge the feasibility of further missions similar to this. Even more on the plus side, US troops aren't sent in with the bogus "mission" of helping get US diplomats and citizens out safely ... and then leaving so that the natives can promptly finish off each other. One of the downside risks is in enabling neighboring militaries to the extent they sometimes have eyes on the resources in nations they send troops into. That's a fairly real concern in this case, but right now, this is the last best effort to end genocide in the nation. I'll take it.
