Private Space

It's not many a day when I find myself agreeing with someone from the Ayn Rand Insitute, so mark the calendar on this day. Beyond that, I'll even go so far as to say I agree fully with Garmond's take that space exploration faces a contradiction in that it should be subject to the innovation best seen in the free market.

But that said, there's still a place for regulation ... not unlike how we regulate those other things that fly above us and occassionally crash down upon us: airplanes. The model is set, now all it takes is for a few brave souls to inform the fine folks at NASA that they no longer warrant monopoly status ... or even any status at all.
