Back to Prop. 12
Just in case anyone was wondering, Prop. 12 is working just dandy here in Texas.
Says who?
Well, from reading the liberal Houston Chronicle, I see that this assesment comes from David Teuscher, who is "an orthopaedic surgeon practicing in Beaumont. He serves as chairman of the Committee on Professional Liability for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons." Sounds impressive, doesn't it? You'd be forgiven for thinking that this denotes a vast sense of credibility on Mr. Teuscher.
What is missing, of course, is that David Teuscher is also the Chairman of the State Republican Executive Committee. That sure seems like a rather convenient detail for a member of the liberal media to leave out, dontchya think?
I'm just sayin' is all ...
ADD-ON: Kim Tutt has a peice appearing in the Austin A-S. In it, she asks for a direct answer as to whether the pain and suffering she endured is really limited to $250,000 when told (thanks to a lab screwup) she had cancer that really wasn't.
Comments
It sure is a stretch to think a medical professional concerned about issues of liability might be a Republican, and an active one at that. What were those wacky deceptive editors at the Chronicle thinking, actually running a provided byline (which is one thing they seem to do consistently) instead of making up one of their own!?
Better send this one off to Connelly and Romenesko and Kurtz right away! I mean, if it's so egregious, how can you pass up this chance at media crit stardom?!

Having said all of that, Kevin, I'd ask you to explain how conservatives such as yourself come to believe that the media is liberal when you point to precisely the two types of examples I've pointed out yesterday as part and parcel for your cause. Why does it only seem to apply to one side of the ideological spectrum ... granted, this assumes you wish to inject intellectual honesty into the debate. I fully understand if that's asking too much.
