Hagel Heating Up

Gee, Why Would Hagel Visit Iowa, N.H. Delegates?

Let's see ... Giuliani, Pataki, McCain, and Hagel ... four GOP "moderates" all with names in the hat for 2008. Perhaps the best news that Jeb Bush and Bill Owens have heard.

PoliticalWire.com also hints that there's some buzz about Mitt Romney's speech. Another post has the Kerry camp shake-up news. As unartfully as I think they responded to the Swiftie challenge, my sense in seeing this bit of news is "So where's the real shakeup?" If the critique is that there are too many chefs, how does bringing in Joe Lockhart make for fewer chefs? I'll hope for history to prove me wrong while clinging to my belief that sacking Mary Beth Cahill, perhaps putting Bob Shrum a foot or two away from the locus of power, and giving some more bite to Joe Sasso's role in the campaign would have been better.

Hegel?

It really will be the end of history if he runs for Prez! :)

Bill Frist will almost surely throw his hat in the ring. It's a deep group.

Sasso?! You mean the guy who was Dukakis' campaign manager for a time? Yes, I agree! More of that guy! It's not too late! More!

Sasso was the guy who killed off Joe Biden's campaign in 1988 while on staff with the Dukakis campaign. Duke let Sasso go after it came out. Hindsight indicates he was missed.
