Ummm, which is it ... is Kerry a dyed in the wool ultra-lib, or does he lack deep convictions? I'm a lil confused now, Dick.

Let me clear it up -- he's been a liberal on national security in the Senate, but as he runs for national office he shows a distressing inability to hold a consistent (or at least coherent) view, often changing his mind dramatically to suit pressing political needs of the moment. All pols do it to an extent, but he seems to be beyond "an extent."

There, that wasn't so hard.
