For Khan

Once more, I'm gonna have to go with the Chronicle endorsed candidate for my district. In this case, it's MJ Khan. Bottom line, Terry McConn is too cozy with State Sen. Kyle Janeck for my taste. So I'll opt for the candidate who at least is promising to stick mostly to issues that involve getting some street repair to District F (in short: we need it BAD!).

Well, Khan is anti-rail... So I don't really have a problem with the guy (although I worked on Janek's campaign).

Then again, it isn't my district, so I haven't been keeping track of this very well. As much as I despise the Chronicle and their politics, I can't say I find myself differing with Khan's talking points.

The Harris County GOP PAC endorsed Khan over McConn. So I would think that they are both cozy
with Janek, a fine public servant IMO with a taste for below the belt campaigning totally out of character with the man otherwise.

As for District G, Holm is finally starting to show some vulnerability. Inside surveying in the
race finds that on Nov 4 she carried a lot of the liberal and swing vote and the others carved up the "conservative" pie. With all of the other
votes added to Daily's Nov total it will be closer than many might think though Pam cetainly has to be considered the front runner. In any other district I wouldn't give Daily much chance but with his recent moves to woo the endorsement of every other candidate no longer in the race,
and he did succeed in this, plus his pandering to religious groups and libertarian Republicans
he can make it close by Dec 6.

Greg I really enjoy what I've seen here as its the ONLY site arguing the Democrats case for more than 3 seconds without calling Bush stupid and Republicans racists. As a libertarian Republican precinct chairman and election judge here in District G I applaud your efforts and appreciate the tone of intelligence on your site over frothing at the mouth slogan chanting so prevalent with modern liberals these days.

While I expect them to both kiss & hug after 12/6, Janek has endorsed McConn for now, appearing on mailers for him. Kahn, meanwhile, has Brandon Rasch and Hakeem Olajuwon on his side.

I noticed that Daily just got the endorsements of what I believe was EVERY other candidate who he and Holm beat out in the race. That's got to be fairly indicative, and the dynamics that Holm, the female, would win the stronger Dem areas, makes sense ... not unlike Kahn winning the stronger Dem areas of Dist. F. The difference being that in F, since it is a Democratic district, this favors Kahn. In G, I'd tend to agree Daily could be making an upset.
