More on Sharp & the Suburbs
Bexar County still hasn't come out with finals yet, which is really ticking me off, but in looking over the Hispanic vs Suburban counties, one intersting note is already worth making. In the suburban counties (Collin, Denton, Ft. Bend, Montgomery, and Williamson) Sharp went from a 92,147 vote deficit to a 147,812 vote deficit in those counties alone. Further proof for my contention that Dems are losing in the suburbs, not in the ethnic parts of the state.
With only the early votes in for Bexar County, Sharps gains in those counties stands at 65,916 4 years ago, and 61,664 today. Primarily, that's due to the fact that Bexar county is a big weight on that total and the early votes lean Republican there. Still, I'm thinking he only makes up abour 70-75,000 in those counties. Another reflection that Dems need to court the suburbs better next time around.
