Texas Congressional Seats
A little bit of a brighter setting is shown here for Dems, although with the party still in the minority in the House, its a mute point:
CD5 - Republican gain in this seat. Ron Chapman is sitting on 41.2% with 93% of the votes in.
CD11 - One positive trend ... blue dog Dems hang on by the hair of their chinny chin chin. Chet Edwards leads 51.4-47.3 with 82% in.
CD17 - A bigger version of the above race. Stenholm walks a fine line as a leading voice for conservative Dems while also serving in the party leadership. The days of him winning with 55%+ may be over, but he's proven in the last few elections he can win a close race.
CD22 - Nary a dent on Delay. Tom Riley spent a fair amount on this race, but the suburban counties made all the difference here, and give Delay 64.7%.
CD23 - A nice pickup here, by a wide margin (62-37). Guess it looks like all that Sanchez money did get something accomplished.
CD25 - Chris Bell wins on the strength of walk-up votes .... 54.5-43.3
