Bell's Bankroll ...

A little blurb about Bell in the latest Roll Call. I'm thinking this district is just cursed. It always gets strong Republican challenges, even when Bentsen was winning with 55+% wins everytime.

Roll Call: Opinion

In Texas' 25th district, left open by Rep. Ken Bentsen's departure (D), the combination of weak fundraising by Houston City Councilman Chris Bell and wealthy Republican Tom Reiser's open checkbook has put this Democratic seat at risk. And that has forced the DCCC to spend more than $1 million on Bell's behalf.

Reiser is still far behind by all the measures I've seen. I'm beginning to be annoy me how certain media sources are portraying races as close when one candidate is up by double-digits - it gets some people nervous and gives others false hope.
